I have been a cross categorical special education teacher at Valley View since 2004. I love my job! The best part of my job is getting to know my students well and celebrating their growth, both academically and socially.
There is something truly beautiful about watching a child realize that they "get it".
My purpose is to provide the level of support that helps my students to be successful and to teach them strategies for learning, gradually releasing more responsibility to them. I look forward to a wonderful year of working together!
I am certified to teach regular and special education, and earned my Masters Degree from Marian College in 2002. I participated in a 30-Hour Orton-Gillingham Multi-Sensory Training in May of 2008 and SCERTS training in 2011. In 2009 I was trained in the Comprehensive Intervention Model (CIM) In 2013 I was trained in AVMR Course. In 2016 I was trained in Literacy Lessons, an intervention similar to Reading Recovery.
